Marissa was just 19 years old when her life was taken and ours were forever changed. Marissa was killed on October 3, 2020 in a collision with a drunk driver. Her death is a tragedy for us all, but it is not what defines her. Her life was about love, joy, and living life to the fullest so that is what we choose to celebrate and remember. We hope that you will enjoy looking at the pictures and videos on this website as you remember Marissa or as you get to know her for the first time.
In addition to remembering Marissa, we want her website to help others who may be experiencing a similar loss. We have included links to information about both the criminal case resulting from the collision and the civil case seeking to hold all others accountable for their part in her preventable death.
Marissa believed that "one person can make a difference, and everyone should try." (JFK) To honor her, we are pursuing advocacy efforts with local legislators and non-profit organizations in an attempt to minimize the possibility of this tragedy happening to another family. We are documenting our efforts on this website as well with the hopes that our work will be helpful to others. If you would like to discuss these efforts with the family, please send us a message.
